Our Tearoom

We offer you a warm welcome to the tearoom and want you to enjoy our home-made produce in a beautiful setting. We have lots of tables inside and out and can accommodate over a hundred people in each area, so please don’t worry about availability – we are sure to have room.

As we have the luxury of space, we do not take table bookings, except for afternoon teas as these take considerable preparation. We therefore ask for a deposit upon booking, normally £5 per person or £10 for the festive tea which is available from 1st November.

We are a friendly bunch, and we all work closely together across the bakery, front of house and the kitchen. Our ethos is to develop and grow our skills set for everyone, so at any given time you will see experienced and not so experienced team members, so please be kind, we are all new to something from time to time in our lives.
We also have our annual fledglings, it’s the nature of our business, and we are happy and sad at the same time to say we have lost some amazingly talented, intelligent and competent young people, but don’t be surprised to see them pop back again in the holidays.

One of our aims is to produce our own seasonal foods and so the kitchen prepares our menu dishes from scratch daily, excepting buying in the odd ingredient such as beef burgers (from Hamlets) or vegan Linda McCartney sausages. Otherwise, all our cakes, traybakes, pies, quiche, pizza, barms and rolls come from our in-house bakery, some of their goods you will also find for sale in the deli.
