About Daisy Clough
Daisy Clough Nurseries have just been aquired by us - Jo Riding and Peter Tate in July 2013. An old retail nursery formerley known as Beechgrove Nurseries, on the outskirts of the village of Scorton in Lancashire, and is undergoing redevelopment with help from Jo's son Tom.
The site is situated on a flat river plain surrounded by the River Wyre and a strip of native woodland. It encompasses a meadow, on which Pete is developing a market garden and an old orchard which we hope to reinstate with some heritage varieties and swathes of wild flowers.
On the six acre site sits an acre and a half of very useful glasshouses, giving us fantastic facilities to grow a wide range of garden plants. That is the hub of Daisy Clough - Home grown vegetables, perennials, grasses, shrubs, wildflowers and container and patio plants, at homegrown prices.
Jo has spent a number of years designing and planting up gardens and landcapes, large and small, and has a head full of planting ideas - all based on putting the right plants in the right places in combinations to inspire the most dispirited gardener.
Tom will be moving into one of the workshops on site to develop his garden carpentry business. That is when he has finished making new plant staging, driving the digger, and cleaning and repairing greenhouses!
We will, when the site is tidied up develop planted up garden areas to be enjoyed by customers and visitors to the nursery over the next couple of years.
"Daisy Clough is open 7 days a week and welcomes all"
